Actor Kang Ji Hwan (42, Cho Tae-gyu), charged with rape and sexual assault, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
On the 5th, the first part of the Suwon District Court’s Seongnam Support Detective (Deputy Judge Choi Chang-hoon) sentenced to three years of probation for two years and six months in prison for Kang Ji-hwan, charged with quasi-rape under the Special Law on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crime.
The court said, “The defendant is sentenced to two years and six months in jail. Defers execution for three years from the date of the decision. Orders 120 hours of community service. Orders for 40 hours of sexual assault treatment. Three years of employment at a child-related institution. Restrictions are placed on the welfare facilities for the disabled.
Earlier in the prosecution’s decision on the 21st of last month, the prosecution ordered Kang Ji Hwan to imprison a three-year in prison and a five-year completing the program of sexual violence treatment, limited disclosing personal information, and job restrictions.
Kang Ji Hwan was arrested in July on charges of sexual assault and sexual assault on two female staff at his home in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. After the arrest, Kang Ji hwan insisted that “I do not remember anything when Im drunk.”
